build-your.app (we call the app "Bya" for short) lets you describe an app in plain language and get one built for you. This page explains, plainly, what we collect and why.
We keep these until you ask us to delete them (see "Deleting your data").
No ads, anywhere in the app. We never sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
To build your app, we send your prompt to the AI providers we use: third-party services that turn your description into working code. That's the only reason your prompt ever leaves our server. We don't hand it to anyone else, and we don't use it to train anything of our own.
While building, our system can also look things up on the web through one of these providers. Those search queries can include parts of your prompt, are processed outside the US, and that provider's terms let it use them to improve its own models. Our other AI providers don't train on what we send them.
Publishing an app to the community listing is your choice, made from inside the app. Once published, its title, icon, screenshots, category, the prompt you used to build it, and your chosen creator handle are all visible to anyone browsing the community, until you unpublish it.
Some apps can be shared with other people, so you all see the same list or scores. What you and the others add to a shared app is stored on our server so everyone in that space can see it. Anyone who joins with the link can read and change it.
A shared app can open a text file you choose, such as a .csv or .txt file. The file is read on your device, and only what the app then adds to the space is stored, like anything else you add, where everyone in the space can see it. Shared apps can't open photos or other kinds of files.
We record which accounts are in each shared space. If you change or delete something, we keep the previous version for 7 days. A space is deleted when its owner closes it or deletes their account, or after 180 days with nobody opening it. If you leave a space, or delete your own account, you are removed from it, but what you added stays there until the space is deleted.
When you open an app in your browser, anything the app saves stays in that browser. We don't receive or keep it. You can delete it any time by clearing your browser's data for that site.
We count how many times app pages are opened and how often their buttons are tapped. These counts aren't linked to you: we don't use cookies or identifiers for them.
If you join a shared space in your browser, you pick a handle. Other people in that space see your handle and what you add, the same as in the Android app.
If you ask to hear when Build your app comes to iPhone, we keep your email address for that one message and then delete it.
Open any app's Data screen inside Bya and delete its data, then uninstall the Bya app itself. That removes what's on your device.
To delete your whole account, including everything stored on our server: open Bya, go to Wallet, and tap Delete account. This removes your apps, any of them you published, your credits and subscription access, and your build history. No app installed? See build-your.app/delete-account for how to ask us by email instead, using the support code the app shows; we delete it within 30 days.
Deleting your account also deletes every shared space you started.
Two things survive account deletion, both stripped of anything that identifies you: our own AI usage records (for cost accounting) and the minimum purchase record Google Play's own accounting needs (which pack, how many credits, when).
If we block an account for abuse, we keep a small record of it (a flag for the device and the reason) even after the account is deleted, so it can't simply come back.
If you used an invite link, or a friend used yours, we keep a scrambled copy of the phone's device ID after that account is deleted, so the same phone can't claim the invite reward twice.
